Darren of Entire Latte Enjoy provides you an overview of the Rancilio Silvia semi-automated espresso machine. A single of the finest sellers, the Rancilio Silvia is a machine with a reputation that speaks for itself. With more than five years of solid overall performance, the Silvia is a single of the most highly recognized semi-automated machines in the company. To make sure heat retention and lasting top quality, the Silvia features a forged marine brass group head and boiler. The significant 12-ounce boiler also enables for steam capability that is unparalleled by other machines at this size and price tag. An iron frame, housed by brushed stainless steel, supplies durability as effectively as sleek, Italian style. Miss Silvia requires a little bit of time and patience to master, but the moment you do you are going to by no means want to use anything at all else. Rancilio Silvia Shot Walkthrough

Video showing how to brew a shot on the Rancilio Silvia, such as suggestions on how to "temperature surf" the machine by acquiring the boiler to cycle to it's best temperature (about 101C with a "float"), then operating a bit of water to flush out the excess heat. Shots pulled are "traditional doubles", pulling 60mls in 28 seconds, making use of Kid-O from Intelligentsia (I called it Black Cat by mistake as soon as in the vid). Dose is about 17g in a Synesso 14g basket. Grinder utilized is the Anfim "Best" property grinder, about 0Cdn / US. PS - because of the white balance (shot under old florescent lights), the shots appear blonder in the vid than they are. I'd say the colour in person was a mediumbrown / hazelnut tiger flecks. No blond dotting.
